Tourism cycling march Trencagarrons 2010

Marcha cicloturista trencagarrons. Mallorca

The Trencagarrons is one of the most traditional cycling marches with more reputation of Mallorca. Not only for being one of the hardest, but also because its route include the ascension to the highest peak of the island, the Puig Major, whose last few miles pass through a military area of great strategic and environmental value not publicly accessible, if it’s not with a special permit.

This final leg of the ascent of Puig Major, with ramps up to 18% and an average gradient of about 10%, is timed. However, the Trencagarrons march is non-competitive and open to all fans with the only limitation to be over 14 years. The main purpose of organization and participants is to enjoy cycling and complete the climb to the highest peak of Majorca and our region.

The 9th edition of the TRENCAGARRONS tourist cyclist march climbing to Puig Major, will have its official start on Sunday September 26, 2010 at 9:00 pm at the Municipal Pool in Alcudia.
